SLEFO 2026
The Qualifier Round of the Sri Lanka Economics and Finance Olympiad 2026 will be held on January 24th, 2025 in an online format. The contest will consist of a multiple-choice question (MCQ) paper in economics and finance topics.Top scorers of the Qualifier Round will be invited to the in-person Semifinal Round which consists of MCQs and essay questions in economics and finance. Students reaching the Semifinal Round will receive merit certificates.At most 12 top-scoring students in the Semifinal Round will be invited to the Final Round, which will serve as the team selection examination for the International Economics Olympiad 2026, to be held in Suzhou, China.The five students who get the highest scores in the Final Round will be selected as the Sri Lankan team for the IEO 2026.To be eligible for SLEFO, you must be
- a Sri Lankan citizen
- born on or after 1st July 2006
- currently enrolled in a Sri Lankan school
- have not taken any coursework at a university
The IEO
The International Economics Olympiad is the world championship competition in economics and business for high school students.
It is held every year in a different country, with the 2026 edition being hosted in Suzhou, China.

இது ஒரு மூடிய புத்தகப் பரீட்சையாகும் (Closed-book exam). பரீட்சையின் போது குறிப்புகள், பாடப்புத்தகங்கள் போன்ற எவற்றையும் பயன்படுத்தவோ அல்லது பரீட்சை முறைமையை (Examination System) அணுகுவதைத் தவிர இணையத்தில் தேடவோ மாணவர்களுக்கு அனுமதி இல்லை. இவ்விதிமுறையை மீறியமை பரீட்சை முறைமையினால் கண்டறியப்பட்டால், அது உடனடித் தகுதிநீக்கத்திற்கு (Immediate Disqualification) வழிவகுக்கும்.
2026 பெப்ரவரி 7 ஆம் திகதி காலை 10.00 மணி முதல் 10.15 மணி வரை எந்நேரத்திலும் நீங்கள் பரீட்சையை ஆரம்பிக்கலாம். ஆரம்பித்தவுடன், பரீட்சையை நிறைவு செய்ய உங்களுக்கு 90 நிமிடங்கள் வழங்கப்படும். பரீட்சை பக்கத்தில் உங்களுக்கு எஞ்சியிருக்கும் நேரம் (Remaining time) காட்டப்படும்.
காலை 10.15 மணிக்குப் பின்னர் நீங்கள் பரீட்சையை ஆரம்பித்தால், உங்களது சமர்ப்பிப்பு செல்லுபடியற்றதாகக் (Invalid) கருதப்படும்.
போட்டியின் போது தவறுதலாக உங்கள் இணைய உலாவியை (Browser) மூடிவிட்டால், நீங்கள் மீண்டும் இப்பக்கத்திற்கு வந்து பரீட்சையைத் தொடரலாம்.
நீங்கள் இணைய உலாவியை மூடினாலும் நேரக்கணிப்பு (Timer) தொடர்ந்து இயங்கிக் கொண்டிருக்கும்.
பரீட்சையை ஒன்றுக்கு மேற்பட்ட தத்தல்களில் (Multiple Tabs) திறக்க வேண்டாம்; அவ்வாறு செய்தால் உங்கள் விடைகள் சரியாக சேமிக்கப்படாமல் போகலாம்.
ஒவ்வொரு வினாவுக்கும், விடை சரியாக இருப்பின் 5 புள்ளிகள் வழங்கப்படும். "விடை இல்லை" (No answer) எனத் தெரிவு செய்தால் (அல்லது ஒரு தெரிவையும் தெரிவு செய்யாவிடின்) 0 புள்ளிகளும், விடை தவறாக இருப்பின் -1 புள்ளியும் வழங்கப்படும்.
விடையளித்து முடித்ததும், உங்கள் விடைகளைச் சமர்ப்பிக்க "Submit" என்பதை அழுத்தவும். "Submit" செய்த பின்னர் விடைகளை மாற்றவோ அல்லது மீண்டும் வினாத்தாளாளை அணுகவோ அனுமதிக்கப்பட மாட்டாது.
முதல் சுற்றில் அதிக புள்ளிகளைப் பெறும் அதிகபட்சம் 20 மாணவர்கள் SLEFO அரையிறுதிச் சுற்றுக்கு (Semifinal Round) அழைக்கப்படுவர். இது மார்ச் மாதம் நடைபெறும் (திகதி பின்னர் அறிவிக்கப்படும்). அரையிறுதிச் சுற்று நேரடிப் பரீட்சையாக (In-person exam) நடாத்தத் திட்டமிடப்பட்டுள்ளது. தெரிவு செய்யப்படும் மாணவர்களுக்கு பரீட்சை நடைபெறும் இடம் பற்றிய விபரம் அறிவிக்கப்படும்.
முதல் சுற்றுப் பெறுபேறுகளை பெப்ரவரி 21 ஆம் திகதி அல்லது அதற்கு முன்னர் நீங்கள் பெற்றுக்கொள்வீர்கள். அனைத்துப் புள்ளிகளும் இறுதியானவை மற்றும் மேன்முறையீடுகளுக்கு இடமில்லை.
போட்டியின் விதிமுறைகளுக்கு இணங்காத மாணவர்களை தகுதிநீக்கம் செய்யும் உரிமையை SLEFO கல்விச்சபை (Academic Board) கொண்டுள்ளது.

පළමු වටයේ ප්රතිඵල පෙබරවාරි 21 හෝ ඊට පෙර ඔබට ලැබෙනු ඇත. සියලුම ලකුණු අවසාන තීරණයක් වන අතර අභියාචනා කළ නොහැක.

Welcome to the SLEFO Online Examination System!Please read the following instructions carefully.
You must join the Proctoring System before starting the exam, and keep your camera and microphone on at all times until you complete the exam. Failure to adhere to these instructions will lead to immediate disqualification.
The exam has 20 multiple-choice questions with a maximum possible score of 100.
The exam will be conducted solely in English medium.
This is a closed-book exam. Students are not allowed to use any notes, textbooks, etc. during the exam or to browse the internet except to access the examination system. Any violation of this policy detected by the examination system will lead to immediate disqualification.
You can start the exam anytime between 10 am - 10.15 am on February 7th, 2026. Once started, you have 90 minutes to complete the exam. The exam page will show how much time you have left.
If you start the exam after 10.15 am, your submission will be invalid.
If you accidentally close your browser during the competition, you can return to this page and continue the test.
The timer will keep running even if you close the browser.
Do not open the exam on multiple tabs; your answers may not be saved properly if you do so.
For each question, you will receive 5 points if the answer is correct, 0 points if you selected "No answer" (or did not select an option), and -1 point if the answer is incorrect.
Once you finish answering, click "Submit" to submit your answers. You will not be allowed to change the answers or access the quiz again once you click "Submit".
After you submit the exam, you may end the proctoring session by clicking on "End Exam".
Top-scoring students of the Qualifier Round will be invited to the SLEFO Semifinal Round which will be held in March (date to be announced). The Semifinal Round is currently being planned as an in-person exam. We will inform the venue to selected students.
You will receive the results of the first round on or before February 21st. All scores are final and cannot be appealed.
The SLEFO Academic Board reserves the right to disqualify students who do not comply with the rules and regulations of the competition.
